The universal Law of Cause & Effect simply states that for every effect in our lives, there is a specific cause. In other words, there is no such thing as an accident.
There are many hidden meanings or agendas for illness. There are times when illness is caused by physical stress to the point where our immune system can’t function. The source can be our negative and sometimes unruly thoughts that seep into the subconscious mind. Sometimes illness or disease is a form of escape, and other times it is a form of wanting or needing attention.
Not all illnesses or diseases have hidden agendas, though. Sometimes it’s toxins or poor diet – or a plethora of physical reactions to the environment that’s the culprit. There are times, too, that our Higher Selves will choose a path of illness or disease for higher learning and soul growth. The root causes of illness are many; and internally, your heart knows truth. The Universal Laws of Life are the same no matter where we are, because these are the principles that nature uses to create everything in existence.
Physical Sources of Disease:
Some soul searching may help you dig up the deep-rooted answers, or it may be a matter of checking your lifestyle. For this latter one, ask yourself questions: where do you live (near a toxic waste dump, near power lines or other electro-magnetic disturbances, etc.), and what foods are you eating (genetically modified foods or GMO’s, junk food, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, farmed fish, large fish which contain large amounts of mercury, crops that are laden with pesticides, etc.), and ask yourself what could have happened in the past that lead you to your disease or illness (direct contact with pesticides, over-exposure to radiation or drugs, etc.). Exercise or lack of it will also have an effect on our bodies, too.
If people are exposed to the same elements, and we all have inactive cancer cells in our body, then why is it that some people get cancer, and others don’t? What is that X-factor we’re searching for?
Emotional Sources of Disease:
The universal Law of Control states that we feel good about ourselves to the exact degree that we feel we are in control of our own life. Steering the course of our own life rather than someone else controlling it means taking control of our feelings and beliefs we hold in our heart.
On a deeper subconscious level, illness or disease can give the “inner child” in us the attention we’re craving. When we were children, we were coddled by our mothers whenever we were ill. There are times as adults that our subconscious takes over and the subconscious wishes for someone to give us attention and to pamper us. Intensive care in the hospital can fulfill this desire for attention and pampering. It’s a way of saying, “I need help and I’m calling out”. As adults, sometimes when ‘Life’ becomes too unbearable, we wish to escape and disease is a way out. Again, this may only be true for a very small percentage of people who become ill.
Another factor: We’ve created so much stress in our lives with busy schedules and agendas that there is no time for just ‘Being’. Simplifying our lives can induce great healing for the physical, mental, emotional & spiritual aspects of ourselves. We are weakest when we’re stressed, and we are least able to resist illness or disease at this point.
Sometimes crisis transforms us from the control of ego, and transcends us to functioning at a higher level. It’s a wake-up call for ourselves to simplify and tune in to our higher consciousness.
Whatever may be going on with you physically right now, stop and think about the root cause. What unhealed emotion might be trapped in your body? Is it anger, jealously, unforgiveness, stress, emotions that have been shut down or closed off due to life circumstances? Are you self-critical, have a guilt complex, are you burnt out or worried, or do you have deep resentment? Do you distrust, have self-pity, or feel hopeless or helpless? Do you hold on too tightly to money or relationships? Do you invalidate yourself? Are you inflexible, stubborn or have a fear of change? Do you hate your job or have an inferiority complex? Are you a perfectionist or insecure? Are you inflexible, afraid, or do you feel trapped?
These emotions that are trapped in your body can cause physical problems. Inability to speak up for yourself can lead to throat problems. Lack of self-worth can lead to ulcers. Perfectionism or being overly critical can lead to arthritis. Being overweight is a need for protection. Accidents can be an expression of anger, frustration or rebellion. Sometimes we just need to be hit by a huge truck to wake up and make changes in our life. If you look at these things now and try to heal on a deeper level, you might avoid a disease, accident or an illness later.
Here is a brief list from Karol K. Truman’s book, Feelings Buried Alive Never Die of emotional diseases that can lead to diseases or illnesses:
1. Adrenal problems – Feelings of being defeated or being a victim; feelings of
unresolved jealousies or fears.
2. Accidents – Feeling wishy-washy and defenseless; feeling a need to punish yourself;
resistance toward authority.
3. Addison’s Disease – Anger at self; no sense of self; no mercy for self.
4. Arthritis – Severely criticizing self or others; holding onto opinions or belief; depression;
5. Breast Cancer– Conflict of worthiness; not nurturing yourself.
6. Cancer – A form of self-destruction. Repressed anger; feelings of despair and hopelessness;
no desire to live; childhood trauma (this one I see in my female clients frequently – especially
sexually abused victims – and it usually develops into cancer of the reproductive organs).
7. Canker sores – Emotional stress; unresolved negativity; anxious over details.
8. Spinal Meningitis – Inflammatory thoughts.
Know in your heart that you can change old unhealthy patterns. You can also make lifestyle changes for better health and emotional wellness. It’s a wonderful fact that you are in control of your life, and no one else has that power. Don’t allow yourself to be run to the ground emotionally, mentally or physically. Take action steps right now to change your life so that you’ll be happier, more fulfilled and have a healthier body.
